Original Type I photograph capturing Ted Williams making a speech on "Ted Williams Day," held on April 30, 1952, at Fenway Park. The game against the Detroit Tigers marked Williams' final game of the season before he had to report for active duty as Marine fighter pilot during the Korean War. Williams went out with a bang that day, hitting a two-run homer to help Boston defeat the Tigers 5-3. Two Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a few handwritten markings. The photo (8x10") displays a few light creases and a light stain in the lower left corner. Very Good condition. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archives.
