Official invitation to the 1956 Olympic Games, held in Melbourne, Australia, inscribed "Bill Russell USA Gold" in black ink along the top front border. PSA has encapsulated the invitation and graded the signature NM-MT 8. Russell, of course, earned a gold medal at the 1956 Olympics after leading the United States' basketball team to a dominating 89-55 victory over the Soviet Union in the finals. This is one of only a few 1956 Olympic invitations we have seen and the first signed by Russell. As such, it is a unique signed souvenir commemorating one of the first of Russell's many spectacular achievements during his legendary career. The invitation (5.25x3.25") remains in Near Mint condition.
