1952 certificate of appreciation issued to Mac Speedie by the "Eisenhower-Nixon Sports Committee. This piece originates from the personal collection of Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame wide receiver Mac Speedie and has been consigned to this auction directly by a family member. It is one of twenty lots from the Mac Speedie Collection offered in this auction, all of which were just recently on public display at the National Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The large-format certificate, which features a small photo of the United States Capitol, is lettered, "In Appreciation To Mac Speedie For Noteworthy Endeavors As A Member Of The Eisenhower-Nixon Sports Committee." It has been signed along the base in black fountain pen by "Dwight D. Eisehhower (grading 8/10) as President of the United States," and "Richard Nixon (6/10) as Vice President of the United States."
