Few players get to close out their careers the way Albert Pujols did. At the age of 42, the 22-year Major League veteran bashed 24 home runs in his last season to finish his sterling career with 703 home runs, only the fourth Major Leaguer to ever reach 700 circuit clouts. Displayed is a pair of game used Albert Pujols batting gloves. A third baseman, first baseman, and designated hitter, Pujols played the first 11 years of his career (2001-2011) with the St. Louis Cardinals. He then played over nine years for the Los Angeles Angels, a part season for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his final season, in 2022, back with the St. Louis Cardinals. He is a 3-time National League MVP, an 11-time All-Star, and a 6-time Silver Slugger. He hit .296 lifetime, with 3,384 hits and 2,218 RBIs. Each Nike batting glove has a tag inside that reads "XL [for size] Made in Korea." Each glove has a black Nike Swoosh on the back of the forefinger. "Pujols" is stamped is raised lettering on the back of each wrist strap. A tag on the back of each wrist strap shows the image of a player batting and in the background of the tag is the number "5," Pujols' uniform number. The gloves show great use and yet are still in excellent condition. It seems as if Albert Pujols has a ticket punched for Cooperstown, and these game used gloves make a valuable remembrance of his greatness.
