1909-1913 M101-2 Sporting News Supplement Napoleon Lajoie. Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. This is the only example of this particular supplement graded at this level by PSA, with NONE graded higher. This piece originates from a remarkable complete set of M101-2 Sporting News Supplements that was obtained by a longtime collector decades ago. The set, as a whole, is perhaps the finest ever assembled, the majority of which is being broken up and offered in several lots in this auction. (The PSA highest-graded Joe Jackson M101-2, which appeared in our Summer Classic Auction and realized a record price of $20,419, originates from this same set.) The 1909-1913 Sporting News supplements were printed on extremely thin paper stock and nearly all surviving examples display a myriad of significant condition flaws, including creases, tears, and corner chips. The offered supplement is free of any major defects and is Excellent in in its overall appearance.
