Presented is a Super Bowl XLII New York Giants game worn Aaron Ross jersey (photo matched). Ross was the Giants' 2007 first round pick from the University of Texas. Ross won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's best defensive back in 2006. Ross was the Giants starting left cornerback that year, appearing in 15 regular season games, with 42 combined tackles, 1.5 sacks and three interceptions. In the Giants four play-off games that year, Ross has 12 tackles - two for a loss - and a pass deflection. In Super Bowl XLII, the Giants defeated the Tom Brady quarterbacked New England Patriots 17-14, with a key play in the 4th quarter winning drive being David Tyree's "helmet catch" of an Eli Manning pass for a 32-yard third down reception. because the Patriots came into the game undefeated and 12-point favorite, the Giants' victory was one of the biggest Super Bowl upsets in history. Ross played seven seasons i the NFL, all but one with the Giants. Ross was also a part of the Giants Super Bowl LVI victory. Ross finished his NFL career with 250 combined tackles and 11 interceptions, returned for 13 yards and two touchdowns. The white nylon jersey front has an NFL patch at the neck and a "NY" under that. Each sleeve has "31" in red numerals. The Reebok logo is below each sleeve number. The right interior sleeve has a washing instructions tag. A Super Bowl XLII patch is on the left chest. The front chest has a "31" in red numerals. The back has "ROSS" in red letters on a nameplate and "31" in red numerals under the nameplate. The jersey exhibits great use. There are stains, a few hit marks and color bleeding on the shoulder numbers. Ross was a polular player, and this jersey worn by the starting left cornerback in the Giants' upset of Tom Brady's undefeated Patriots is a valued remembrance of one of the biggest upsets in NFL lore.
