Offered is a chance to own a game worn Peyton Manning jersey from his historic game on 9/7/14, when he led the home team Denver Broncos to a 31-24 win over former team, the Indianapolis Colts, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in the season opener for both teams. Peyton played 17 seasons in the NFL, the first 13 years with Indianapolis (1998-2010), and then after a season off to heal injuries, he played his final four seasons with Denver. The Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback was a 14-time All-Star, a 7-time All Pro, a 2-time Super Bowl Champion, a 5-time AP MVP, and the Super Bowl XLI MVP. In the game in which Peyton wore this jersey, he was facing his former team for the first time in a regular season game. The Broncos took a 24-0 lead in the 2nd Quarter as Manning threw three touchdown passes in that quarter, each to Julius Thomas. Later, Indianapolis mounted a comeback, but Denver hung on for its win. In the game, Manning was 22-36 in passing for 269 yards, with three TDS and no interceptions. In playing against Indianapolis, Manning became only the second player at that time (the other being Brett Favre) to have faced each of the then current 32 NFL teams. The game is also significant in that it was the contest in which Manning, in his last Pro Bowl season, surpassed 65,000 passing yards. The orange jersey has an NFL logo patch below the neck. The body of the jersey is 91% nylon and 9% Spandex. On the chest is a white "Broncos" in block letters and under that is a white "18" trimmed in blue. Each sleeve also has a white "18" trimmed in blue and a Nike swoosh. The jersey has a Nike size "42" patch in the neck, and a Captain patch on the upper right chest. The back has "MANNING" in white block letters, and an "18" in white, trimmed in blue. It comes with a team Certificate of Authenticity signed by Denver Bronco Equipment Manager Chris Valenti. The jersey is also photo matched. The jersey, from Manning's last Pro Bowl season, shows light wear, and it is in excellent condition. This already valuable and rare jersey is a great collecting opportunity. One can simply never have enough Manning memorabilia. There was Archie Manning, the patriarch of the Manning quarterbacks, who played 13 NFL seasons, mostly with the New Orleans Saints. His son Peyton is already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and another quarterback star, Eli Manning, also has a chance to be a Hall of Famer. Archie Manning's grandson, Arch Manning, is the son of the third Manning brother, Cooper Manning, and Arch is attending Isidore Newman, a high school in New Orleans, and he is already on the radar as a future college star with top pro potential. When Peyton Manning became the second player to play against all 32 current NFL teams in the Sept. 7, 2014, game, he was informed of his achievement, and he commented on its significance. "It means I'm old," he joked. Maybe he was, but he was also an all-time NFL great and from an all-time NFL great family, and this game worn jersey will take any memorabilia collection to a higher level. Comes with Davious Sports Photo-Matching LOA.
