Presented is a rare Ron Hall game worn Boston Patriots' jersey from 1967, his final pro season. Hall, a defensive back, played for the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers in his rookie season of 1959. He joined the American Football League's Boston Patriots in 1961 and played the rest of his career with them, retiring after the 1967 season. Hall was selected for the 1963 Pro Bowl, when the Patriots were the AFL East Division Champion, and in '64, he was an Associated Press First Team selection as he intercepted 11 passes, returned for 148 yards. His 11 interceptions in '64 are still a Patriot season record. In 1967, the year this jersey was worn, Hall started six games and had one interception. The jersey is primarily red, and exhibits "patriotic" red, white and blue trim. The front has "23" in white numerals sewn on the chest, and "23", also in white numerals, is sewn on each sleeve. The back has "HALL" in white letters sewn on a red nameplate, and the nameplate seems to have been replaced, with a new one with a large repair on the right shoulder. and "23" in white numerals sewn on the back. The jersey has a groin strap, with buttons. On the lower back outside tail is a Holovak/Coughlin manufacturer's tag and also a tag with washing instructions. Handwritten in an unknown hand is "Property of Ron Hall", and a stamped "44" for size. The jersey shows moderate game wear. There are loose threads, and a very small stain. Except for the large repair on the top right of the name plate, the jersey is in excellent condition. The jersey has great nostalgia value as it goes back to the days when the Patriots were known as the "Boston Patriots" and they were in the upstart American Football League. It comes with a Letter of Authenication.
