The 1949 New York Yankees sailed to the American League pennant with a 97-57-1 regular season record, and then beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 4-1 in games in the World Series. Offered is a beautiful sample '49 World Series ring. The '49 Yankee team had future Hall of Famers: Yogi Berra (catcher), Phil Rizzuto (shortstop), Joe DiMaggio (center field), and Casey Stengel (manager). The Dodgers featured a flock of future Hall of Famers: Jackie Robinson (second base), Gil Hodges (first base), Pee Wee Reese (shortstop), Duke Snider (center field), and Roy Campanella (catcher). The '49 Yankees' World's Championship was the first of five World Series triumphs in a row for the American League Champions (1949-53). Inside the size 10.5 ring is stamped "C.E. Olsen". There is a simulated diamond in the center of the ring face. Around the ring face is written "New York Yankees World Champions". Both shanks exhibit "1949" and the Yankee logo. The impressive ring serves as a great remembrance of the beginning of the five-year run of New York Yankee World Championships.
