Enormous pastel painting of Hall of Fame outfielder Willie Mays. The impressive original artwork pictures the legendary "Say Hey Kid"  at the plate in his follow-through swing during his final season in baseball as a member of the New York Mets. Mays is the only player featured in the painting, where he is framed by an ethereal array of colors. This is an evocative representation of Mays, made all the more moving by the sheer size of the piece, which measures 37.5x59" (visible dimensions). The piece has been signed and dated ("'93") in pencil by the artist in the lower right corner (his name is only partially legible, but appears to read "David A. Dagwilt"). In apparent Excellent to Mint condition.
