Presented is the May 20, 2019, issue of Sports Illustrated, with the magazine cover signed by Golden State Warrior stars Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. Inside the magazine is a 3.5-page story by Rob Mahoney titled "The Warriors/is this the last dance for KD and Steph?" The answer to the question posed by the article turned out to be "Yes." After winning the NBA Championship for the previous two years and three of the last four, Golden State reached the NBA Finals, but they lost to the Toronto Raptors. Curry and Durant were the two keys to the earlier Warrior Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018. Curry, a point guard, averaged 27.3 PPG for the 2018-19 season and strong forward Durant averaged 26.0 PPG that year. In that season's NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, Curry averaged 30.5 PPG, but Durant was hurt and played in only one game, scoring 11 points in 12 minutes, and Golden State was defeated by the Raptors 4-2 in games. As of this writing, Durant is with the Brooklyn Nets, seeking a trade, but with Curry still doing his magic, the Warriors won another championship in 2021-22. Curry signed the magazine cover in blue marker, and he added his number "30." Durant signed in black marker. Both signatures are boldly written. The signed Sports Illustrated is in excellent condition, and it makes a fine memento from 2000s Golden State Warrior dynasty.
