Exhibited is a Jason Varitek Boston Red Sox jacket with great use, from a wonderful era of Boston baseball history. Varitek played his entire 15-year career with the Red Sox. A switch-hitting catcher, Jason was a 3-time All-Star, the recipient of both a Silver Slugger and a Gold Glove Award. He was a member of Red Sox World Champions in both 2004 and 2007, and the Boston Captain in 2005. Known as "Tek," he hit 193 lifetime home runs. Varitek is still in uniform as a game planning coach with the Red Sox. The jacket is primarily blue with red and white trim. Across the chest is "Red Sox" in red trimmed with white. The back has "#33" in red numerals trimmed with white. The collar is tagged "Authentic Majestic #33," with the #33 handwritten in black marker. Under the above-mentioned tag is a smaller tag reading, "XXL." The left sleeve has the iconic Red Sox logo. The back has a MLB logo tag at the top. The left inside his tagged "Old School." The bottom tail is tagged "Outer Shell P.U. Laminated/backing Polyester 65% Cotton 35%/Liner 100% Nylon/Trim 100% Polyester/Fill 100% Polyester." Some of the blue coloring is coming off the jacket, resulting in a rosin like substance that can be felt on parts of the jacket. There is a small stain on the "Majestic" tag. The snap buttons on the jacket front show wear. The jacket is on overall good condition while also showing great wear. It was acquired by a former Red Sox employee.
