Circa 1949 Big Chief Erie the Injun rubber squeak toy/doll in original box by Rempel. The toy measures 6" tall and is still supple and pliable with no splits or cracks though it does show use. Original green and red feather pieces are included and Chief Erie holds his tomahawk and scalp in his hands; a decidedly inappropriate design by today's standards. He comes in his box which has its original cellophane window though it is partially punched in. The box has colorful artwork throughout with its original top insert and lid, though the box is slightly faded and has some cracking and tearing to the side with the cellophane. The lid has the original owners name in pencil. With the original moniker paying tribute to the Cleveland Indians' proximity to Lake Erie, the name would shortly thereafter change to the more recognizable Chief Wahoo, also since retired with the name change to the Guardians.
