Simply amazing original print features Michael Jordan promoting Gatorade and is believed to be one-of-a-kind. According to the included Letter of Provenance, this was the first ad MJ did after signing with Gatorade, months before the "Be Like Mike" ad campaign. A retouched version of this clever fold-out ad was sent to Sports Illustrated for publication, but this is believed to be the one-and-only version of the original. Measuring 20x24" and printed on heavy black and white photo paper, the first fold reads, "After leading the league in scoring," opening that fold reveals Jordan's face with the words, "After taking the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Championship," with another fold revealing more of his arm with the phrase, "And after winning the NBA title, what is there left to reach for?" The final fold unveils the Gatorade cup, which is colorized in the final version. The ad itself ran just one time at a cost of nearly one million dollars, and considering the success of the Jordan/Gatorade partnership, it was clearly well worth every penny.
