(Please Note - the lot title originally referred to this ring as originating from "Fran" Batista. We have confirmed that it is, in fact, Miguel and have revised the title accordingly.) Displayed is a 1993 Eastern League championship ring that was presented to the Harrisburg Senators Miguel Batista, later a Major League pitcher for 18 seasons. In his Major League career, Batista, a right-hander, played in both leagues, for 11 teams. He had the most Major League service with Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals franchise and the Arizona Diamondbacks, each four years. In 1993, Batista was the leading pitcher for Harrisburg, an AA Montreal Expos affiliate in the Eastern league. Batista made 26 appearances, all as a starter, and he had a 13-5 record with a 4.34 ERA. In his long Major League career, Batista had a 102-115 record, with a 4.48 ERA. The highlight of his playing was the 2001 World Series when his Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees in seven games. Batista pitched 7.2 innings of shutout ball in Game 5, which the Yankees. The jersey has great nostalgia value as it goes back to the days when the Patriots were known as the "Boston Patriots" and they were in the upstart American Football League. won in extra innings and in the nerve-wracking game 7 at Bank One Ballpark in Arizona, when Batista came into the game in the 8th inning to relieve Curt Shilling with a runner on base. Batista returned the one batter he faced, and the Diamondbacks won Game 7 with two runs in the bottom of the 9th. The attractive ring has an "H" in the ring face, and the "H" has seven simulated diamonds. Around the face of the ring is "Eastern league Champions 1993." The left prong reads, "Batista/Harrisburg Senators/Best record in Baseball/100-47." The right prong has the Montréal Expo logo. There is no original box. The Balfour ring is a size 10.5, and inside the band is, Balfour 10K. Overall, the ring is in excellent condition. The ring comes with a signed Letter of Authenticity from Miguel Batista.
