While sometimes overshadowed by the likes of Mario Lemieux and Paul Coffey, keen observers would note that the dominant early-1990s Pittsburgh Penguins would not have had the same success without talented character players of the caliber of Hall of Famer Mark Recchi. This black Pens jersey was game worn by Recchi in the 1991 Stanley Cup Finals, won by Pittsburgh in a 6-game series with the Minnesota North Stars. Jersey has been photo-matched to Getty #167728736. Black road sweater has Maska Ultrafil tag in collar with faint "8" written on in marker, Stanley Cup Championship patch on right chest area, and skating penguin logo crest. The Penguins played on the road in Games 3, 4 and clinching game 6. The Number "8" is on shoulders in black-on-white tackle twill, and on back in yellow-on-white, below his name stitched directly to the jersey in yellow letters. All original with nice use displayed including scrapes, stick marks, repairs, paint transfers, and pilling, indicative of the intensity of Stanley Cup competition. As a bonus, included in the lot is a Jofa right elbow pad, model 1444L with number 8 written in marker, which was also game worn by Recchi, who led the 1991 champions with 123 points while placing second only to Super Mario in the post-season. Comes with Davious Sports Photo-Matched LOA!

Addendum: This jersey has been photo-matched to THREE images, including two undated images from the Stanley Cup Finals and one image from Round 1 of the Playoffs on 4/9/91. While we cannot say for certain that he wore this jersey throughout the entire playoff run, the fact that the jersey was worn in Round 1 and Round 4 leads us to believe it is highly likely.
