Original type I photograph picturing fans watching a game at Ebbets Field, circa 1917. This is an extremely early Ebbets Field image, picturing the stadium prior to the expansion in the 1920s. Two Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a few handwritten pencil notations. Ebbets Field opened in 1913 and was home to the Brooklyn Dodgers until the team left for Los Angeles after the 1957 season. The photo, taken from the perspective the of the bleachers near the left-field foul pole, captures a game-in progress and includes the main grandstand. "Ebbets Field" was etched into the original negative and appears as white lettering in the lower left corner. The photo (10x8") displays a tiny chip in the lower left corner, a tiny edge tear, and a few light creases. In Good to Very Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
