Original Type I photograph of Albert Einstein and his wife Elsa in 1933 while staying in Palm Springs, California. The couple are pictured as the walk down the steps of their living quarters prior to embarking on a walking tour of the area. Einstein and his wife fled to the United States in 1933 to escape persecution in Nazi Germany. While in Palm Springs the couple stayed at the Willows, a home owned by Samuel Untermeyer, a prominent lawyer. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with the original paper news caption, dated "2/10/33." The photo (7x8.5") has been trimmed along the left and bottom borders and displays light creasing. In Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
