"As you all know," said Tiger Woods, "I'm kind of a perfectionist." The only questionable part of the aforementioned quote is Tiger's use of "kind of" to describe his perfectionism. Woods himself would almost surely admit that he is an all-out perfectionist if there ever was one. His work ethic is legendary, and his desire to perfect his game helped to push Woods into an amazing comeback in the recent April 7-10,2022 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Woods suffered serious leg injuries in his February 2001 single car crash in California. He had rods and pins placed in his right leg, and he went over 16 months away from golf. Still not match fit and hampered by the walking he had to do in the tournament, Woods surprisingly made the cut on Friday, April 7th, the second day of the Masters, but his legs evidently increasingly bothered him, and he shot a six-over par 78 on both weekend rounds. Woods is now officially back as a PGA golfer. He may play in the May PGA Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and he has stated that he will play in the Open championship in July at St. Andrews in Scotland. In his career, Woods has won 82 PGA events, tied for first place all-time with Sam Snead. Woods has won 15 Major championships, second only to Jack Nicklaus, with 18. For a very brief moment in time, Woods used this Scotty Cameron putter (approx. 35" in length) with a flow neck, which Titleist confirmed was a Laguna model. The bottom of the putter reads "Scotty Cameron Laguna by Titleist." The back of the putter has "Scotty Cameron" imprinted and Tiger Woods' signature in what appears to be written with a silver marker. The putter is in excellent condition. Woods had the Laguna in his bag for the 1997 Buick Open at Warwick Hills Country Club in Michigan, but it looks as though it never made it back into the starting 14-club roster after that. The putter comes with a vintage signed "Tiger" golf ball that was possibly used. Tiger signed the putter and ball in 1997. Putter and ball were previously displayed with date "4/3/97" on back, so the putter was used before that date. Our consignor was good friends with Tiger Woods as they frequently played golf together. One day after their time on the course, Tiger reached into his bag, signed this Scotty Cameron putter and ball and gifted it to the consignor. The Titleist 2 golf ball has "Tiger" imprinted on it and Woods signed with a black marker. The ball is in excellent condition. Obtaining this item will not only give a collector both a used putter and a possibly used golf ball, both signed by possibly the greatest golfer in history, but help a great cause as, please note, proceeds of this sale will be donated to a non-profit foundation that is currently working on building a school for autistic children.
