Alex Rodriguez finished his Major League career with 3,115 hits, ranking 21st on the all-time MLB hits list. But everyone has to start somewhere, and Rodriguez started accumulating hits from his first bingle, on Saturday July 9, 1994, when he was in the starting lineup for the Seattle Mariners their game against the Red Sox at Boston's Fenway Park, a game that the Mariners won, 7-4. "A-Rod" started at shortstop, batting ninth. In his first at bat of the game, he reached base on an infield error. Then in the top of the fourth inning, he notched an infield single off Boston starter Sergio Valdez. In the eighth inning, Rodriguez added another single to finish the day at 2-for-4. Rodriguez finished his career with 696 home runs, a lifetime .295 batting average, and over 2,000 runs and 2,000 RBIs. Alex was a 14-time All-Star and a 3-time AL MVP. he won 10 Silver Slugger Awards and two Gold Gloves.
