Muhammad Ali went through life in a way that often seemed bigger than life, and offered is a big, one sheet movie poster, measuring 29x43", that depicts Ali posing with his arm around the Statue of Liberty. Written in Spanish, the verbiage on the poster translates to "Muhammad - Ali A Phenomenon Called Cassius Clay". The poster also quotes Ali. The Spanish reads Suy Negro/Soy Hermoso/Soy Genial, which translates to "I'm black; I'm beautiful. I'm great." Ali was the first fighter to become a 3-time World Heavyweight champion. In 1970, Ali had been away from the ring for three years after fighting a conviction for refusing to be inducted in the U.S. Army in the U.S. military draft during the Vietnam War, and declaring himself a conscientious objector. The legal wrangling was behind him, and Ali fought a successful comeback fight in October of 1970 against Jerry Quarry. The poster also shows the actor Richard Kiley is in the film as well as famous boxing trainer Cus D'Amato. In a typical fold, the poster is folded into eighths. There is some transparent tape on the back of the top and bottom edges and a few minor stains and rips. Overall, the poster is in good condition, and it depicts a movie about the iconic boxer at a crucial time in United States history.
