This spectacular original photograph is one of the few major Japanese baseball panoramas we have seen. The doubleweight image is truly impressive as it shows Koshien Stadium near Kobe, which just two years later hosted Babe Ruth and his 1934 United States Tour of Japan team. The detail is such that you will think you are back in time. The photo captures the Opening Day ceremonies of the hugely important National High School Baseball Tournament, traditionally regarded as one of the most important events of the Japanese baseball season. The photo (49x11.25") displays several light vertical creases from the piece having once been rolled, as well as a few small edge tears. In Very Good condition overall with outstanding contrast.
