In baseball, the object of the game is to score more runs than your opponent, and nobody in the history of baseball was better at scoring runs than Ricky Henderson. Offered is a 1993 Toronto Blue Jays Ricky Henderson game issued uniform jersey. The home jersey has a "Wilson" size "44" tag, and also a tapered 5-inch short tag in the neck. Also in the neck is a tag reading "14 93 1." The upper right chest has the Toronto Blue Jays logo. "Blue Jays," in blue and white lettering is across the chest. The jersey is signed and inscribed by Henderson in blue marker on the right chest as "Ricky Henderson #24," although Henderson's number at the time was "14", which is displayed in blue and white numerals on the back. Above the numerals is "HENDERSON" in blue and white block letters. A Hall of Fame outfielder, Henderson is the leading base stealer in the history of baseball, with 1,406 thefts. "People say I stole a lot of bases," said Henderson. "I stole bases for a reason. I crossed the plate." Henderson was great at crossing the plate, as he scored 2,295 runs, Major League Baseball's all-time best. Henderson played 25 seasons in the Big Leagues - for nine teams. He played more than half his career, 14 seasons, with the Oakland A's. Even though Henderson was with Toronto for only part of one season, he still made his mark as in 44 games he stole 22 bases and scored 37 runs. This item represents an opportune chance to possess the jersey of baseball's all-time leader in both runs and steals.
