Paul Molitor joined the 3,000-hit club in a big way. Presented is the 1996 Paul Molitor 3,000th career hit game used baseball and the full ticket. It happened on September 16, 1996, when Molitor's Minesota Twins played at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium in the Twins' 6-5 loss to the Royals. Molitor singled in the first inning for hit #2,999. Then in the fifth inning, Molitor smashed a ball into the right center field alley for a triple and hit number 3,000. He became the first player to join the 3,000-hit club on a triple. Molitor continued his big day by adding hit 3,001 to close out the day at 3-for-4, with a run and an RBI. Molitor played 21 years in MLB baseball; 16 seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers and three seasons with both Toronto and Minnesota. The 7-time All-Star and 4-time Silver Slugger finished his career with 3,319 hits. This ball was used in the game and kept by Molitor, and it came right from him. Molitor signed the ball and added "3000" after his signature. The ticket appears NRMT and is also signed by Molitor. The ball shows nice use.
