Ken Griffey Jr. Louisville Slugger pro-model ("C271") bat dating from the 1991 to 1997 manufacturing period. The black cupped-end bat, which is not cracked, measures 34 inches in length and weighs 31.25 ounces. Excellent use is displayed throughout, including ball marks on the barrel (with blue-ink transfers and white scuffs), stitch impressions, and a wrap of white tape on the handle (applied in a crisscross manner) that extends seven inches up from the knob. Griffey Jr. has signed the bat in silver paint pen (grading 7/10) on the "sweet spot" of the barrel. Few, if any, players in baseball were better than Ken Griffey Jr. between the years 1991 and 1997. During that span he averaged 40 home runs and 114 RBI per season (not counting his 1995 season when he missed over seventy games due to injury), as well as earning six consecutive Gold Glove Awards. A former MVP Award winner, Griffey Jr. led the league in home runs on four separate occasions, including a career-high 56 home runs in both 1997 and 1998, and is one of only nine players to hit over 600 home runs. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2016, his first year of eligibility.
