Displayed is a beautiful sample 1990 Cincinnati Reds World Champion ring. The Reds started out the season winning the first nine games, and they were never headed. In the World Series, Cincinnati upset the heavily favored Oakland Athletics as the Reds swept the Series. The wording on the ring reads, "Cincinnati Reds 1990 World Champions." There are 11 simulated diamonds around the center stone. This is a Balfour sample ring. On the left shank is imprinted "DAVIS Wire/Wire 44" as a reference to Eric Davis, number 44, and that the Reds went through the season always in first place, wire to wire. Davis was a 2-time All-Star, a 2-time Silver Slugger, and a 3-time Gold Glove winner. In 1990, he hit 24 home runs, drove in 84 runs, and stole 21 bases. The right shank has imprinted "Sweep Cincinnati Reds" and an imprint of the World Series trophy. The ring is not solid gold but is marked inside with LGB (Balfour) and a serial number. The very attractive ring is in EX-MT condition.
