Offered is a great trove of personal Nellie Fox items that were all obtained from the Hall of Famer's estate. Fox made his name as a great double-play partner with shortstop Luis Aparicio on the Chicago White Sox, and as an outstanding contact hitter. "Nellie Fox, that little son-of-a-gun, was always on base and was a great hit-and-run man. He sprayed hits all over," said Yogi Berra. The second baseman won three Gold Gloves, was a 15-time All-Star, and was a key sparkplug on the 1959 American League pennant winning Chicago "Go-Go Sox." The collection (50+) items: a personal dress tie, numerous one-of-a-kind photos, a rare 1944 Jamestown Falcons program - one of the teams Fox played on in his first years of minor league ball when he was only 16 years old; a Falcons team photo, family photos, 1960 Phantom World Series tickets; photos of Nellie in grade school; letters; a fan club newsletter; items from the Nellie Fox fan club president; a very detailed personal 1967 Washington Senators 49-page coaching manual - an inside look at the Washington Senators policies for minor league managing - when to change pitchers, strategy and tactics, playing tips, the psychology of handling young prospects, etc. Much, much more.
