Pittsburgh Steelers football helmet worn by guard David DeCastro during the 2017 season and 2017 Pro Bowl. The black Riddell "Speedflex Precision" helmet features the Steelers logo on the left side and a gold stripe running down the center. DeCastro's uniform number ("66") is featured on both the front and reverse of the helmet in white numerals. Also affixed to the reverse of the helmet are an American Flag decal and and NFL logo decal. DeCastro's name is embroidered in white on one of the interior pads. As noted on one of the interior Riddell labels, this helmet was produced in August 2017. The helmet, which includes the original face mask and chin strap, originates directly from the Pittsburgh Steelers and has a Steelers Authentic Memorabilia hologram label affixed to the interior. The helmet has also been photo matched to use in the 2017 Pro Bowl. The interior forehead bolster pad is missing, otherwise the helmet is complete as issued. Heavy wear is displayed throughout, indicative of a full year's worth of use, including numerous scuffs, abrasions, and scrapes on the exterior. The amount and nature of use is what one would expect on the helmet of an interior lineman, especially DeCastro, who was known for his physicality in the trenches. The Steelers selected DeCastro with the 24th pick of the first round in the 2012 NFL draft and in just a few short years he established himself as one of the game's best players at his position. DeCastro was selected First Team All Pro in both 2015 and 2017, and Second Team All Pro in 2016. He was also selected to six straight Pro Bowls from 2015-2020. This is an outstanding Pittsburgh Steelers game-used helmet worn by one of the team's top players during the course of one of his finest seasons.
