Modern-day photograph, hand embellished by Susan Brock, capturing ten members of the Morris Brown baseball team, which was an African American ball club posing together, circa 1900. The team is pictured in uniform, with the exception of the manager standing in the center. Various pieces of equipment can be seen either held or displayed on the ground, including bats, gloves, balls, and catching gear. The image of the child held by one of the players has been hand tinted by artist/photographer Susan Bock, who specializes in adding color to photographs (for more information regarding Bock's work please visit her website: https://art2die4.net/#/page/home/). Although this is not an original print, it remains an exceptional photographic record of black baseball at the turn of the century, a time from which very few comparable images exist. The photo (5x3.75") has been mounted by means of a single piece of tape on the reverse, otherwise it is in Mint condition. The matting measures 7x5".
