Presented is a lower stand $2.00 reserved seat full ticket to a double-header at Yankee Stadium on May 9,1954 with New York hosting the Philadelphia Athletics. The Yankees would struggle in 1954, dropping to second place in the American League after three straight seasons as World Series winners. The Athletics would finish in last place in 1954 and were in their last season in Philadelphia, and they would be playing in Kansas City in 1955. The first game was won by the Yankees 7-4, and the Yankees line-up, managed by Hall of Famer Casey Stengel, featured Hall of Famers Phil Rizzuto at shortstop, Yogi Berra catching, and Enos Slaughter in right field. The Yankees had home runs by Berra, Slaughter, and Andy Carey. The Yankees took the first game by 7-4. In the second game, the Yankee line-up had Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle in center field, and that game was called with the score 1-1 after nine innings. The ticket measures approximately 1.5" x 6", and displays a red, white, and blue Yankee logo. The ducat is encapsulated and graded by PSA NM 7.
