Attractive basketball trophy dating from the 1930s. The design features a bronze statue (12" high) of a generic basketball player in a shooting pose mounted upon a black metallic base (8x5.5x4"). The plaque that was once attached to the base has been removed and does not accompany the piece (the four mounting holes are clearly evident on the front of the base). This is a high quality trophy and on par in design and craftmanship to the Spalding baseball trophies from the 1920s. It is also the first such example we have ever offered. The trophy displays wear commensurate with its age, including light abrasions and a few minor nicks to the base. Total height: 16 inches.
