"If I'd just tried for them dinky singles, I could've batted around .600," said Babe Ruth. Allowing for a bit of hyperbole, maybe he could have. Presented is a Babe Ruth signed baseball by a tremendous left-handed pitcher and the greatest home run hitter of his time. Of course, there is only one signature on the ball, because Ruth did them both - pitch and hit. As a pitcher he was 94-46 lifetime, with a career ERA of 2.28, and he once held the record for consecutive scoreless innings in the World Series - with 29. Of course, he did bash those 714 career homers, and Babe hit enough of those "dinky" singles to bat a lifetime .342. On the baseball, the Bambino has signed "Babe Ruth" on the sweet spot in blue pen. The signature is a bit faded, but clear and large. There is substantial darkening on the "Official Reach Cork Center Yarn Wound" 1930s baseball. The ball exhibits fading and shows scratches, a few abrasions, and some scuff marks. Like Ruth, the baseball is just a little bit rough around the edges, but it is signed, neatly in blue ink from a fountain pen, by the once -in-a-lifetime-force of nature called Babe Ruth.
