Offered is the visually appealing Triple Platinum Record Award for The Black Crowes' debut album Shake Your Money Maker. The plaque on the award reads, "Presented to Andrew Govatsos to commemorate the sale of more than 3,000,000 copies of the DEF American album, cassette & compact disc "Shake Your Money Maker." Andrew Govatsos was the band's record rep for Shake Your Money Maker. The band started in 1984 in Marietta, Georgia. In 1989, they changed their name from Mr. Crowe's Garden to The Black Crowes, and in 1990 recorded the "Shake Your Money Maker" album. The band has broken up several times but are presently back together with two of the original members, brothers Chris and Rich Robinson. The "Shake Your Money Maker" recording featured singles such as "Hard to Handle," "She Talks to Angels," "Jealous Again," 'Twice As Hard," "Sister Luck," and "Seeing Things." The award is framed at 25.75" x 27.75". Each of the three platinum records is 12" in diameter. Also framed is a 5.75" diameter colorful logo of The Black Crowes. The plaque on the award includes a 3" x 3" image of the band and a 3" x 3" section reading "RIAA Certified Sales Award." The Black Crowes have sold over 30,000,000 recordings, and this award represents their greatest success. Large orange letters reading The Black Crowes are splayed across the transparent covering over the tops of the albums, contributing to the substantial eye appeal.
