Original Type I photo of outfielder Tris Speaker as a member of the Boston Red Sox, circa 1912. Speaker is pictured as he strikes a batting pose next to the batting cage prior to a game. Several of his unidentified teammates are pictured in the background as they await their turn in the cage. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with two handwritten captions in pencil and a small, white inventory label. The photo (9.75x8”) displays light creasing along the borders, a small abrasion, and circular editorial shading around Speaker’s head. In Very Good condition overall.
