The publicity photo captures a scene from the film in which Babe Ruth gets a laugh at the expense of one of his teammates. "Babe Comes Home" was released in May, 1927, and was Ruth's second feature film. The film itself has been lost, with no copies known. Today, all that are left are a few rare posters, heralds, and movie stills such as this. Three Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a "Jul 22 1927" date stamp, and an affixed paper news caption that reads "'Babe Comes Home' - - Just a joke on a team-mate which tickles 'Bambino."
