Displayed is a 1970 Topps Baseball display box. The brightly colored box makes use of mostly primary colors and measures 3.5x10.75", with a height of 1.75". The box features artwork of a generic New York Met on the top and side. The release of this Topps set followed the Miracle Mets 1969 season when they won the World Series over the Baltimore Orioles. The 1970 Topps set consisted of 720 cards, the most ever issued at that time. The cards measure 2.5x3.5". Although the 1970 season included the Milwaukee Brewers, the Seattle Pilots move to Milwaukee was too close to the start of the season for the cards to be changed, thus the Milwaukee players appear as Seattle Pilots. This set features the rookie card of Thurman Munson. Other Topps display boxes similar to this one advertise 8 cards for 10 cents, but this box has lettering that reads, "10 cards 10 cents" (symbol for cents employed).
