Tommy Woodcock is a former legendary hockey trainer who began his career as a "rink rat" who helped out at games of the Providence Reds hockey team, became a player in the Eastern league and eventually became a NHL trainer. He was inducted into the Trainers Wing of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. This offering contains four awards from National Hockey League teams to Tommy Woodcock. 1) An award presented to Tommy Woodcock for "37 years in the NHL." The award is 10.75 " in height and 9" in width and it is 3" deep. The award resembles the top half of a hockey puck, and it contains the team names and logos of the St. Louis Blues, the Hartford Whalers, and the San Jose Sharks. 2) A wooden plaque (9x11.5") that reads, "To Tom Woodcock of the Hartford Whalers - A special tribute for serving as a National Hockey League trainer for 1,500 consecutive games - Game 1,500 versus the Philadelphia Flyers Feb. 26, 1985." 3) A wooden plaque (11.75x14.75") which features an image of Tommy Woodcock and which reads, "Tommy Woodcock In appreciation of 1000 games of dedication, service and work to the St. Louis Blues You are indeed an "Iron Man" in your own right. March 7, 1979, 1000th game in the National Hockey League and with the St. Louis Blues." 4) A metal award (6x14") with a San Jose Sharks hockey puck affixed atop. The script reads, "Tom "Woody" Woodcock - Inducted into the Hall of Fame 5-16-2003 Dropped the first puck opening night 10-16-2003." All of the aforementioned items are from the personal collection of Tommy Woodcock.
