A rare 1891 Findlay Bottle of boxing legend Bob Fitzsimmons. Robert James Fitzsimmons was a British born boxer who had a legendary career. He was known as "Ruby Robert" and "The Freckled Wonder" and was proud of the lack of scarring he obtained in the ring. He had 101 documented fights from 1885-1914. Fitzsimmons was a Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, and Heavyweight Champion. He became the Middleweight Champion in 1891. In 1896 he became the Heavyweight Champion and was the lightest boxer to ever hold this honor at only 165 pounds. On November 16, 1894, Fitzsimmons knocked out his opponent Con Riordan, who was carried out of the ring and later died in the hospital from his injuries. He is considered one of the top 10 hardest hitters of all time and is an International Boxing Hall of Fame member. Bottle measures 14.5" tall and is made of glass. It is a stunning piece and has original paint on his eyes and mouth. There is a repair on his right arm and some chips around the cork stopper on body. A rare and unusual piece of boxing memorabilia.
