Cuban-born Martin Dihigo was so dominant across Latin and Negro Leagues during the 1920s and '30s that he was nicknamed, "The Immortal." Dihigo is shown in windup while playing for Los Azules de Veracruz in this amazing vintage 3.5x5.25" black and white real photo postcard. Front is slightly toned and rear has lines from the transfer of the underlying card stock, though the original postcard stamps can be seen and the number "130%" is written in a more modern hand in ballpoint pen. Dihigo's number 8 can be clearly seen on his pants, and there is a photographer's stamp from Gutierrez Anos Foto Veracruz on bottom right. Primarily a pitcher/second baseman, Dihigo played all nine positions during his career and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977 by the Negro Leagues committee.
