Extremely scarce 1961 full ticket for Sandy Koufax's then-record setting performance on September 27 vs. the Philadelphia Phillies. After a few average seasons with the Brooklyn/LA Dodgers, Koufax came into his own during the '61 campaign with an 18-13 record, but it was his strikeout prowess which made fans take notice. Though Sandy dropped a tough 2-1 decision, he reached a significant milestone, recording seven strikeouts to bring his season total to 269, eclipsing the National League mark of 267 set by Christy Mathewson in 1903. With an announced attendance of just 4,166 at Connie Mack Stadium, these are rare in any condition and this is encapsulated by PSA as NM 7, with sharp corners and print and no apparent blemishes. The lefty broke his own record two years later with 306, and obliterated both marks in '65 with a career-high 382 whiffs.
Note: This is one of only two PSA 7 examples, with none graded higher.
