Original Type I photograph of Christy Mathewson as a member of the New York Giants. Mathewson is captured warming up on the sideline prior to a game. Exceptional clarity makes this a stellar image of Matty in his prime. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with Mathewson's name written in pencil and a few additional editorial markings. Although no year is listed, the uniform style shown here was used by the Giants only in 1908. The photo measures 6x4.5" and displays a few light creases.
