Unique vintage photo composite featuring portrait images of 16 members of the 1923 National League Champion New York Giants. Composite images such as this came back in favor during the 1920s, as publishers looked for new ways to make images complement the narrative. Here, the portraits are arranged horizontally in the shape of a pennant. Featured are manager John McGraw, Frankie Frisch, and Casey Stengel, who hit two game-winning home runs in the 1923 World Series, including an in-the-park home run in Game 1. The credit stamp of Bob Dorman Newspaper Enterprise Assn. appears on the reverse. The photo (14x5.5”) displays several edge tears and two vertical tears, all of which have been repaired with white tape on the reverse. There is large chip in the lower left border. Fair to Good condition.
