Portrait photo of Babe Ruth, beautifully inscribed in black fountain pen "To My Pal Al From Babe Ruth." This was a special presentation photo that Ruth reserved for close friends. It was intentionally designed this way, with Ruth's portrait in the center against a large white canvas, so that Ruth had ample room to include a lengthy personalization. The white background also provided optimal contrast to his usual choice of blue or black fountain pen. This example is no exception, as Ruth's large flowing inscription fills the entire lower right quadrant and literally jumps off the clear background. The photo (8x10") displays minor creasing and a few small scattered stains. In Very Good condition overall.
