Original Type I photograph of St. Louis Browns Hall of Fame shortstop Bobby Wallace taken by famed baseball photographer Charles Conlon. Wallace is pictured in a fielding pose on the sideline as he smiles into the camera. Conlon’s handwritten notations on the reverse include his own last name along with Wallace’s name and team affiliation. Also appearing on the reverse are a Brown Brothers credit stamp and additional editorial markings. Although no year is listed, the uniform style shown here was used by the Browns between the years 1911 and 1915, which marked the tail end of Wallace’s long 25-year career, most of which was spent with the Browns. The photo measures 7.5x10” and displays editorial shading and outlining to Wallace’s image, small corner creases and chips, and a few light surface wrinkles. VG.
