Nipper is one of the most famous dogs of all time, right up there with Lassie and Spuds Mackenzie. The painting of Nipper is based on the original painting done by the dog’s owner, Francis Barraud. The painting was simply called, “Dog Looking at and Listening to Phonograph”. It was later modified to “His Master’s Voice”. After Barraud sold the painting as well as the copyright to the Gramaphone Company in 1899, Nipper became immortalized as the most popular trademark of the advertising world. The RCA Victor logo, featuring Nipper is most common. Porcelain advertisement is well painted, colors are very dark. EX.
