Before there was 61, there was 60 - this New York Yankees game program and ticket stub date from September 26, 1961 as Roger Maris tied Babe Ruth's single-season home run record with his 60th round-tripper against the Boston Red Sox. The program is in delicate condition, scorecard is holding on by a single staple, scored inside and the score page has a large tear to the bottom. Torn ticket stub measures roughly 1x3" and is in EX condition with clear print; it was originally stapled inside the program and the staple holes are evident. Just five days later, Maris slugged his way into baseball history, asterisk or no asterisk.
