Astounding piece of hockey history in this late 1960s Cooper goalie's glove attributed to Hall of Fame netminder Terry Sawchuk. Glove fits on left hand and is hammered with wear, with a small tear to the leather inside the thumb where the plastic padding has pushed through, some laces are frayed though no appear cracked, and general wear associated with the position. Initials TS are written on outside cuff; because clear action photos from Sawchuk's career are nearly impossible to come by, MEARS has "attributed" this glove to the Red Wings' legend, and it originates from from Lefty Wilson's house with provenance detailed in the included MEARS letter. After passing due to a freak accident with his career still active at age 40, Sawchuk is one of just 10 players in NHL history to have his Hall of Fame waiting period waived.
