Circa mid-1970s Pittsburgh Steelers home black jersey game worn by Hall of Famer Donnie Shell. Steelers Sand-Knit and size 46 tags are on the front tail and the jersey shows great use with paint transfers and at least five team repairs evident along with general game wear. Shell's number 31 is on front, sleeves, and back in all-white; nameplate has been removed, likely because jerseys were reused during this era and it may have been issued to another player. Except for the nameplate removal, jersey is all original and lot comes with cert from Steelers. Though we can't pinpoint the exact year(s), Shell's rookie season was 1974 and it's very possible that this was game worn during that season and/or Pittsburgh's 1975 Super Bowl season. A member of the feared Steel Curtain defense, Shell retired as the career interceptions leader among strong safeties with 51, along with four Super Bowl rings.
