Vintage 1956 Man of the Year Award presented to Hall of Fame second baseman Charlie Gehringer. Measures 10x15" and central plaque reads, "This award is presented to Charles L. Gehringer by the Industrial Recreation Association of Detroit Inc. In Recognition of his Outstanding Contribution to the World of Sport." Gehringer was the 1937 American League MVP, the highlight of his 16-year MLB career, all spent in the Motor City. At the time of this award, he was a vice president in the Tigers organization.
