Circa mid-1910s one-of-a-kind, original, from the camera glass plate negative features a great image of all-time legend Ty Cobb in mid-swing. Perhaps Cobb's greatest season occurred in 1911, when the Georgia Peach led the Majors with a .416 batting average and 127 RBI while earning the MVP honors. Measures 5x7", there are a few pinholes of image loss at some at the edges but all are minor and have no impact on the Hall of Famer. "Tyrus Cobb" is written on top of the negative; the image itself is challenging to find but this is the one-and-only negative that generated all such photos, and we classify this as one of the best images uncovered to date in the massive Brown Brothers Collection.
